Optimizing Digital Workflows for Promo Production
We are often asked how we enlighten our clients and help them improve their media operations. Our projects are confidential in nature, however, over the next few weeks we will be giving you a taster of some of our recent work while respecting the privacy of our clients.
The Bodhi Tree Group recently helped a major commercial broadcaster in APAC evaluate their current promotion production workflows and identify operational improvements to better work with digital assets.
We started by conducting an audit of the current processes and systems based on a series of workshops with key stakeholders involved in the promo production supply chain. Tasks, activities, roles and responsibilities were mapped out using Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN) diagrams together with a description of the steps involved. Any issues or problems were highlighted at each stage of the process. Issues were grouped together based on their impact to business processes, systems, and organization / people.
Using this analysis, we made recommendations for improving the promo production workflows based on industry best practices for creation, management, and delivery of digital assets. Our recommendations were designed to deliver the following benefits:
- Increase accuracy & efficiency of the promo production process
- Reduce the number of remakes required
- Reduce the number of versions required
- Make it easier for Promotions to collaborate with other stake-holders, such as Post-Production, Presentation and Sales
In order to help our client visualize these recommendations we delivered future (To Be) process diagrams, together with a set of clearly actionable next steps in terms of systems and business process improvements.
